The Ombak Group is one of the largest locally owned hotel and hospitality groups with affiliates spanning across the Indonesia Archipelago in Lombok, Makassar, Bali and Banyuwangi.
As the fore runners of the growth in small communities, the Ombak Group know very well that with growth, comes great responsibility.
In September 2015, the Ombak Sustainability Project was developed help support our natural environment and neighboring communities.
Nuture Nature
We take our natural resources for granted and sometimes we forget that those resources are not unlimited. More importantly, our planet must be protected from corporate exploitation and neglect. This pillar supports initiatives like: sustainable agriculture, organic farming, tree planting, recycling, and better waste management.
Support Life
As a global citizen, we must never turn a blind eye to social disruptions that threaten the well-being of people and our environment. We have an ethical responsibility to look after the people in our community. This pillar supports initiatives like community social events, social justice, reducing poverty, and other grassroots movements that promote social equality.
Create Balance
Indonesia is a fast developing country, and the Ombak Group continues to strive for a sustainable social, economic and environmental model that hopes to achieve fair distribution and efficient allocation of our resources. This pillar strives for balance between our environment and our economic growth.
Annual Community Programs
Each year each property of the Ombak Group chooses a different cause to support during the month of their anniversary. In the past we have supported community food programs, sponsoring orphans, beach clean up initiatives, ocean regeneration programs as well as school and university trainee programs.
Green Up!! Initiative
Our properties are located in destinations that showcase the best of Indonesia’s natural surroundings so it is important for us to protect and preserve our natural resources, not just for our guests but for our planet.
We have implemented a Green Up! Initiative, that allows all guests to participate in environmental preservation by reusing linen and being more aware of energy usage during their stay to help reduce the amount of water, electricity and chemicals used so we can all commit to keeping our surroundings clean and green.
Kindness to Horses
Ombak Group hotels located in the Gili Islands, Lombok are aware that the horses need as much care as our guests.
We promote kindness to horses by providing guidelines for our guests and partners on how to choose happy and healthy horses. We also set and enforce weight restrictions in our partners via contractual agreements to help regulate the work load given to the horses of the Gili Islands.
